The Fair Work Information Statement must be provided to all new employees by the employer as soon as possible after commencement of employment.
The Statement provides basic information on matters that affect employee’s employment and includes the following:
- The National Employment Standards (NES)
There are 10 minimum workplace entitlements in the NES
- Right to request flexible working arrangements
- Modern Awards
- Agreement making
- Individual flexibility arrangements
- Freedom of association and workplace rights (general protections)
- Termination of employment
- Right of entry
- The Fair Work Ombudsman and the Fair Work Commission
A copy of the Fair Work Information Statement which was updated in July 2015 is attached. The Statement was updated to provide for a new high income threshold to $136,700 per annum.
